JSS2 Home Economics Scheme of Work

In Junior Secondary School 2 (JSS2) in Nigeria, Home Economics is a subject that teaches important life skills for managing homes, families, and personal development. Students learn about nutrition, food science, clothing design, homemaking, hygiene, puberty, and preventing sexually transmitted diseases.

In JSS2, students expand on what they learned in JSS1 by applying home economics concepts in practical ways. They study healthy eating, planning, and cooking meals, budgeting, sewing clothes, and improving family relationships.

The goal of the curriculum is to give students the knowledge and skills to make smart choices in their personal lives, help their families, and possibly pursue careers in areas like nutrition, health, hospitality, or fashion design.
